Engine Rooms, Day Rooms, Training Rooms, Bar Rooms, Storage Rooms, Meeting Rooms, Offices. Do you have these in your fire station? Can you clearly hear the radio traffic you want to hear in these rooms?
Speakers Anywhere. Speakers Everywhere.
The age old solution of hanging a speaker in an engine room and cranking the volume just doesn't work any more. Workers may not be able to hear themselves think, let alone have a conversation. But it seems that when you turn it down, you can no longer hear the radio when a truck is running. The solution is what we call Speakers Everywhere®. And we really can put them almost anywhere.
The architectural archway shown below is a classic location that allows a speaker to "speak" down a hallway instead of speaking towards the floor from the ceiling.

The ceiling speaker shown below is installed in a firehouse drywall ceiling above a gear rack. This is specifically designed to project sound to firefighters getting dressed so they do not miss important radio traffic.

ASHER: Working In Firehouses
When we install speakers in engine rooms, they are not placed in one location. They are placed in a number of locations. Gear racks, on either side of crew cabs, near door ways, and ceilings are just examples of the many places speakers are located. This is primarily accomplished with ASHER technology - the same technology used in our church PA systems. This is important - if these speakers can handle gospel/worship bands, they can handle your radio traffic.
When it comes to station audio solutions that WORK, nothing even comes close.
